Issue #5 of Blad centers in on the former outcast and often neglected plants. They spread in gardens at the horror of many home owners, but pleasure to artists and masterchefs. Of course, we are talking about weeds and the beautiful, wild plants that today can be in the way, the bouquet and the salad.
We’re exploring the cultural history of weeds, while also guiding you to how to share you love of plants making your own cuttings and pots of paper. Blad #5 also tells the story on the tough agave cutting, traveling all the way from the garden of Frida Kahlo in Mexico to a Danish suburb, having made countless layers on its way.
Blad #5 includes recipe for the summer drink, turning your weeds into tasty cocktails and a guide on how to make your plants live up to today’s beauty ideals. The stories are complemented by aesthetic photo series: from the Danish island of Anholt, over the Japanese art of Ikebana to colorful illustrations of window sills, guiding you to get the most out of your sunlight.
